In this session, you will get the chance to watch and discuss an award-winning short film, Tree #3, produced at the American Film Institute with the director, Omer Ben-Shachar! Omer will be joined by AFI Instructor and Producer, Chris Schwartz, who will be sharing information about film production at AFI, the school and how you can get involved.

Omer Ben-Shachar is an award-winning director and writer born and raised in Tel-Aviv, Israel. In 2019, he won a Student Academy Award for his film Tree #3. The short also received top prizes at UrbanWorld, HollyShorts, Palm Springs, Comic-Con, and was nominated for a Student Emmy, among others. Omer's short films have screened at over 60 film festivals around the world including the Hamptons International Film Festival and the Bentonville Film Festival. Omer is a graduate of the American Film Institute Conservatory, and received the Richard P. Rogers Spirit of Excellence Award for Directing.
